There are many ways community partners can help children and families involved with Clermont County Children’s Services. Our agency’s goal is to educate the community about foster care and adoption and to recruit new foster and foster to adopt families while extending the invitation to the community to offer support and encouragement in many ways.
The local faith community, businesses, and civic organizations are valuable partners in identifying homes for children in need.
Faith-based organizations may want to consider becoming involved in Clermont County’s annual Leap of Faith event. This event is an ongoing effort to provide information about foster care/adoption, provide community resource/referral information, forge partnerships to more effectively meet the needs of children and families in crisis and to provide encouragement, support and resources to foster/adoptive parents.
If your organization has an interest in helping to heighten awareness regarding the critical need for foster/adoptive parents please consider:
- placing informational materials in bulletins, newsletters or visible locations
- hosting a presentation to educate your members/customers about foster care and adoption
- identifying families within your respective group who are interested in becoming foster/adoptive families
- sponsoring children at Christmas
- donating gift certificates
- donating King’s Island passes
- providing school supplies
- donating clothing/coats/shoes
- donating baby items -- diapers, wipes, etc.
- assisting with the cost of class rings, proms, school pictures, camp tuition and special events by monetary donations
We welcome your suggestions about other ways you can offer support and become involved. To learn more please contact: Children’s Services at (513) 732-7173 or e-mail ClermontForKids@co.clermont.oh.us.
